Rs 62 lakh worth gold biscuits seized

As many as 20 gold biscuits totally weighing about 2.33 kgs and valued at Rs 62.21 lakh were seized from a passenger who arrived at the nearby Karipur airport from Dubai today, Air Customs Intelligence officials said.

The gold biscuits were concealed under the floor mat of the aircraft, Air Customs Assistant Commissioner J Anand Kumar said.

On suspicion, one V A Harish (35) of Kasargod who was seated near the hidden gold biscuits was questioned and he admitted to the crime. He was arrested, Kumar said.
