Unidentified armed criminals
looted Rs 7.5 lakh at gun point from the United Commercial Bank (UCO) of Manikpur branch under Simraha police station in Bihar's Araria district today, police said.
Assistant Superintendent of Police, Rajeev Ranjan said six armed criminals barged into the Manikpur UCO bank branch, overpowered the staff at gun point and looted Rs 5.10 lakh from the cash counter and lockers of the bank.
The miscreants also looted Rs 2.5 lakh from the customers who were in the bank at that time, the ASP said.
The ASP said a search was on to trace the criminals and recovery of the cash.
