Rs 72.11 lakh looted from two banks in Bihar

Six armed robbers stormed into the PNB's Shivnagar branch under Benipatti police station in Madhubani district and looted Rs 50 lakh from the cash counter after pointing guns at officials and employees, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Prabhakar said.

The robbers decamped with the cash on motrocycles.

In a related incident in Banka district, around half a dozen motorcycle-borne armed robbers barged into the UCO Bank branch under Baunsi police station area and overpowered the manager and cashier before looting Rs 22.11 lakh from the cash counter, Superintendent of Police Vikas Burman said.

The robbers fled to Jharkhand by on their motorcycles with the cash, he said.
