Rs 80 lakh cash looted at gunpoint

Four motorcycle-borne robbers allegedly looted Rs 80 lakh from two persons at gunpoint in west Delhi's Punjabi Bagh area this morning, police said.

The incident took place when Shubham and Aman, aged around 20 years, were going on a scooty to deposit the money of their uncle Ved Prakash, a wholesale rice trader, in a bank at Naya Market in Sadar Bazar, a senior police officer said.

As they reached near Shakurbasti underpass, four motorcycle-borne robbers intercepted them and took away the money at gunpoint, the officer said.

The duo, made a phone call and after some time police arrived at the spot and made preliminary enquiries, the police officials said.
 

Shubham and Aman were questioned and a case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered at the Punjabi Bagh Police Station, the official said, adding CCTV footage of the area are being examined to identify the accused.
