Haryana government has approved Rs 81 crore for the development of an artificial lake on about 108 acres of land in Mewat district to meet the demands of farmers pertaining to irrigation needs in the area.
Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has approved for the development of Kotla lake in Mewat and the process related to acquiring land has already been completed, an official spokesman said here today.
The lake would benefit the farmers of Kotla, Aakeda, Mohammdpur, Khanpur and Moli, he added.
"Water would be supplied to these villages through this lake for irrigation purposes which would cover about 1,620 acres of land under Kharif crops and 4,010 acres of land under Rabi crops," he said.
