Tamil Nadu government has allotted Rs 86 crore to the city Corporation, for re-laying damaged roads within its limits, state Environment Minister Thoppu N.Venkatachalam said today.
"The work on re-laying of roads, dug for construction of underground sewerage, will be completed before the (coming) assembly elections," he said at a function here where assistance under the Amma Small Traders loan scheme was distributed to beneficiaries.
He said loans worth Rs 5,000 would be offered to about 2,500 small traders each, without charging interest, through the Erode District Central Cooperative Bank.

The traders have to repay the loan in installments on a weekly basis, he added.
The minister distributed 700 such loans to small traders in Erode Municipal Nethaji market.
