This was informed at a meeting of State Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee of Rural Development and Panchayats Department presided over by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here, an official release said today.
Under the scheme, employment of 371.88 lakh persondays has been generated in rural areas and 27,803 development works have been completed during last fiscal.
The Chief Minister was apprised that 36 per cent persondays were generated for women workers and 50 per cent persondays for workers belonging to Scheduled Castes during the period.
The Ministry of Rural Development has revised the wage rates from Rs 179 to Rs 191 per personday for unskilled manual workers with effect from April 1, 2012 for Haryana which is highest in the country.
