A special anti-corruption court here today ordered confiscation of properties worth nearly Rs 89 lakh belonging to an assistant engineer, found to have been disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The assets would be utilised 'in the public interest'.
The order was passed by judge Avnindra Kumar Singh in the case involving NREGS Assistant Engineer Arvind Tiwari, posted at Kannod in Dewas district, following his conviction.

The court ordered Tiwari to hand over these properties to Collectors of Indore and Tikamgarh, to be utilised in public interest.
Lokayukta Police had conducted a raid at Tiwari's premises on November 19, 2009.
