A manager of a grain trading company was robbed off Rs 9.70 lakh by four unidentified bike-borne youths in Shikarpur town today, police said.
Lalit Kumar, Manager of Mittal Trading Company, was on his way to shop after withdrawing Rs 10 lakh from Punjab National Bank when the youths tried to snatch his bag from him, they said.
"When Lalit resisted the loot, the bandits fired at him but their cartridge did not work. In the melee that later ensued, Rs 30,000 slipped from the grip of the looters," a police official said.
"An FIR has been lodged upon the complaint of the owner of the grain trading company Manoj and investigation in the case is on," he added.
