Soon after Chairman Hamid Ansari read out obituary references to former members and others including those who lost their lives in natural calamities, violence and accidents, BSP members entered the well raising slogans against the desecration of Ambedkar's statues.
AGP members demanded discussion on the ongoing violence in Assam and were supported by other opposition parties including BJP. Some AGP members including B P Baishya were seen carrying placards.
Ansari said a discussion is listed on the matter and asked the agitated members to return to their seats.
In the meantime, BSP chief Mayawati said something but it could not be heard in the din. BSP members entered the well and raised slogans against the UP government.
Ansari made repeated attempts to pacify the agitated members. At around 11.25 AM, he adjourned the House till noon.
After Ansari completed obituary references, Sikh members including M S Gill (Cong) demanded mention of shootout in a gurdwara in the US.

The chairman said the government would come out with a statement on the incident but the members persisted with their demand to which he yielded.
Earlier, Alok Tiwari of SP took oath as a member of the Upper House.
Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar and film actor Rekha, both nominated members, were present in the House. Sachin, who had taken oath on June 4 during inter-session period, attended the House for the first time.
