Talking on phone, Bawa confirmed his appointment and said that he has taken over his new assignment.
Bawa has more than 36 years of teaching experience at the university level.
He started his career as Assistant Professor at PAU Ludhiana in March, 1974, and joined Guru Nanak Dev University in 1979 as Reader.
He worked as Professor of Economics in GNDU, Amritsar from July 17, 1987 to June 30, 2010.
Bawa served the Guru Nanak University as Registrar from April 1996 to February 2, 2009 for a record three terms.
He is a life member of Indian Economic Association, Indian Econometric Society, Regional Science Association of India, Indian Society of Information Theory & Applications, Indian Society of Agricultural Economics.
