RS polls: CPI-M delegation meets Jaya, seeks AIADMK support

The term of CPI-M MP T K Rangarajan ends by April 2; biennial elections scheduled on Feb 7

A CPI-M delegation today met AIADMK supremo and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa at her Kodanad camp office, seeking her party's support for its candidate in the ensuing Rajya Sabha elections.
 
The term of CPI-M MP T K Rangarajan ends by April 2, 2014 and biennial elections are scheduled on February 7.
 
CPI-M state unit secretary G Ramakrishnan and MLAs A Sounderajan and K Balakrishnan met Jayalalithaa at Kodanad in Nilgiris district and sought AIADMK's support for their proposed candidate, an AIADMK statement said.
 
The Left party is however yet to name its candidate.
