RSP institutes Shree Shakti award scheme to promote women SHGs

To recognise and motivate Women's Self Help Groups (SHGs) operating in its peripheral areas, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has instituted Shree Shakti - a scheme for recognition of outstanding Women's SHGs as a part of its CSR initiatives.

Under the scheme, the best SHG would receive a cash award of Rs 50,000 along with a trophy and citation, the RSP said in a release today.

The second prize comprises cash award of Rs 30,000 along with a trophy and citation. There will be maximum four consolation prizes of Rs 5,000 each, it said.

Any Women's SHGs functioning in the model steel villages adopted by RSP, resettlement colonies/camps of RSP and villages in the adjoining blocks like Bisra, Nuagaon, Kuarmunda, Lathikata and Rajgangpur Blocks are eligible to participate in the scheme, it said.
 

Interested and eligible Women's SHGs have to submit applications in the prescribed format, through the Sarpanch concerned latest by December 31, 2014.
