Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has launched an unique initiative to further strengthen safety with a goal to achieve zero accident by making each of its employees an "Ambassador of Safety."
Christened as Sankalp-A safety Intervention, the drive was launched on Wednesday by RSPs CEO Dipak Chattaraj, who exhorted the employees to start a 'Word of Mouth' campaign to make safety an intrinsic part of everyones day- to-day life, RSP said in a release.
"Safety practices and protocols should become part of our conversation wherever we are. Each and every one of us should become an Ambassador of Safety," the CEO said.
While elaborating on the strategy for realising the goal of accident free steel, Chattaraj said, "For me, the ABC of Safety is: A Awareness, B- Belief and C- Commitment. The more aware we are about the hazards, the firmer our belief in our capability and the stronger our commitment towards the cause ... "
Stressing on the need to get rid of the monster called accident, Chattaraj exhorted the employees to take a pledge that neither will they indulge in unsafe practice nor allow anyone to do so.
Exuding confidence that the steel plant will be able to achieve its goal of making accident free steel, the CEO said "believe me, together we can, together we will.
