The Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) today said it has clocked the highest-ever hot metal production of 11,243 ton for a single day on December 12.
The previous record in hot metal production was 11,087 ton for April 2, RSP said in a release.
The achievement has been made possible because of a number of interventions made both in terms of process improvement as well as quality management at various stages, it said.
The input for blast furnace comes from three units, and measures were taken in all these units to better the quality, quantity and consistency of the raw material, which resulted in all-round improvement in the output, the release added.
