RSP takes measures to arrest Dengue menace

In order to arrest the Dengue menace in the steel township, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) is carrying out a number of preventive and proactive steps.

After the incidences of dengue were reported in Ispat General Hospital, as a part of mosquito inspection programme home visits and surveys were done to assess the causes and sources of Dengue, RSP said in a release.

RSP's Public Health Department has engaged a team of 8 members to carry out the mission on a war-footing using four machines. The locality from where the maximum number of cases were reported such as 'A' and 'H' Block of Sector-15 and 'A' Block of Sector-17 were identified for compulsory Indoor Focal spray of Deltamythrin and Sector- 15, 16 and 17 for Anti Larval Spray of Betex-1000. The team members along with the field staff are carrying out the operation everyday.
 

Apart from this Public Health Department has also started an awareness campaign in different departments.

Leaflets are also being distributed and in every Mass Contact Exercise special presentations are being made to make employees aware about the menace. Provisions have been made to cover the entire township in future.
