"Every RSS unit must undertake welfare work as it is the only way to reach out to the underprivileged," Bhagwat said while addressing the All India Executive Committee conclave being held at Kayavarohan village, about 20 kms from here.

The eight-day meet, which kicked off yesterday, will discuss a range of issues including social welfare, carrying out development activities in naxal areas among others.

Top RSS leaders, including Sar Karyavah (general secretary) Bhaiyaji Joshi, Sah Sar Karyavaha Dattatray Hathbele, Suresh Soni, Krishna Goplaji and others, are attending the meet.

Bhagwat told the delegates the 750-odd NGOs associated with RSS be brought under one roof to streamline their functioning.

The RSS chief's visit to the poll bound state assumes significance.

Meanwhile, sources said Chief Minister Narendra Modi is likely to interact with RSS leaders during his scheduled visit to Vadodara on September 10.
