RSS condoles death of Iyengar

Condoling the death of Yoga guru B K S Iyengar, the RSS today said the country has lost a great exponent of Yoga that India has gifted to the world in modern times.

"In the passing away of Yogacharya B K S Iyengar, we have lost a great exponent of Yoga, India has gifted to the world in the modern times. It is indescribable in words our grief and the sense of loss," RSS leader Suresh Bhayyaji Joshi said.

The Sangh second-in-command prayed that God grant peace to the departed soul and strength to his family, disciples and well wishers worldwide to bear this irreparable loss.
 

"On behalf of all swayamsevaks of Rashtreeya Swayamsevak Sangh I offer my humble pranams to the great soul," he said.

Iyengar passed away early this morning in Pune following illness. He breathed his last at 3.15 AM.

96-year-old Iyengar had been ailing for some time and was admitted to a private hospital here a week back.
