CPI(M) today accused RSS of launching "murderous" attacks on its cadres after one person was killed in bomb attack on the Left party-led LDF's victory rally in Kerala and demanded the culprits responsible for the incidents be brought to book "immediately".

"The Politburo of the CPI(M) strongly condemns the murderous attacks launched by the RSS in various parts of Kerala following their miserable defeat in these elections.

"... The Politburo demands that the RSS culprits must immediately be brought to book," the party said in a statement condemning the attack.

One person was killed and eight others injured when two bombs were hurled at LDF's poll victory rallies in the state's Kannur district this evening.

CPI(M) alleged that some RSS-BJP workers came in a vehicle and hurled bomb at the rally in Dharmadam assembly segment from where CPI(M) Politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan won.

One person identified as Raveendran (47) died when the bomb exploded, police said.

Clashes between BJP and the Marxist party workers were reported also from other parts of the district.

In Kanhangad, the Left party claimed, RSS attacked another victory rally and the newly-elected MLA and another senior leader of CPI(M) were hospitalised.

"Similar attacks are being reported from Thrissur and Thiruvananthapuram districts. In Nemom constituency, former MLA and CPI(M) candidate Sivankutty's office was attacked," the statement reads.

The CPI(M)-led Left Front put up an impressive show to clinch power, replacing Congress-headed United Democratic Front (UDF) government in the southern state.

Meanwhile, CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury condemned the attack on the LDF workers saying the magnitude and impact of the Left party's victory can not be "diminished" by violent attacks, allegedly by RSS.

"The magnitude and impact of our victory in Kerala cannot be diminished by violent attacks of the RSS. Lal Salaam," he said on Twitter.
