An RTI activist today claimed that due process was not followed and several rules were flouted in the recent recruitment of class 3 and class 4 employees in the Gujarat High Court.
Activist Ajay Prajapati, who had sought to intervene in a public interest litigation initiated by the High Court, filed an affidavit through his lawyer B T Rao before a bench of acting Chief Justice V M Sahay and Justice Mohinder Pal.
Prajapati claimed he had earlier raised this issue by writing to the HC Registrar on July 3, apart from the President of India, the Chief Justice of India and others.
No advertisement was put out for these posts, he alleges.
60 persons were appointed in class-4 category as peons, watchmen, liftman, etc., in the last three months, says the affidavit.
Meanwhile, the same bench allowed Prajapati to intervene in the PIL which deals with allotment of plots to 27 former and current judges, including that of the Supreme Court by Gujarat government in Neetibaug Cooperative Housing Society in the posh Sola locality here. The PIL was also heard by the bench.
However, today the PIL was today referred to a larger bench.
