RTI activist found dead in water tank in Raj

A 50-year-old RTI activist was today found dead in an overhead water tank at his residence in Jai Hind Nagar under Borekheda town here.

Birdhi Chand Nagar, a resident of Jai Hind Nagar area, was posted as a nursing in charge in Maharao Bheem Singh (MBS) hospital and was an active RTI activist, Lokendra Paliwal, Circle In charge (CI), Borekheda police station, said.

On the report filed by the family members of the deceased, who alleged foul play in his death, police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.

The body has been handed over to the family members after the postmortem, CI Paliwal said.
 

The cause of the death can be ascertained only after the postmortem and FSL reports are received, he said.

According to the sources close to the family, Nagar had exposed several scams including alleged irregularities in the purchase of medicines in government hospitals in Kota.
