In the meeting, co-in charge Meenakshi Chandrawat said some workers, who were not invited to the eeting, were asked to leave the venue.
In reaction, the party workers from Hawa Mahal zone alleged they were being sideline by Salim Kagzi, president of District Congress Committee, stood on tables and chairs and shouted slogans against Kagzi.
Sources said uproar continued for over half an hour and efforts to pacify them failed despite efforts by district incharge Zuber Khan and other senior members.
"The meeting went on successfully for four hours, though there was commotion by a few young party workers who were shouting slogans", said Khan.
He said that in the meeing workers also expressed their "pain" of not being heard by party ministers and poor sanitation situation in the city.
