Targeting the Samajwadi Party government over Mathura violence, Union Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy today questioned why it had no knowledge about the "gigantic" and "horrific" activity of a little known organisation and why the CBI probe was being avoided.

"If the dispensation had no knowledge about such a gigantic, horrific activity, then we may ask whether there is any government worth the name in UP," Rudy said while referring to the "illegal activities" of Ram Vrikh Yadav under the name of 'Vidhik Vaicharik Kranti Satyagrah'.

Activists of the organisation last week indulged in widespread violence, including firing, in Mathura when police tried to evict them from large tracts of government land which they had been occupying for over two years.

Addressing media persons here, Rudy, the Minister for Skill Development, asked, "why are the government's pivots avoiding handing over of the entire horrific act to CBI?"

He underlined that a thorough impartial probe is inevitable in view of the seriousness of the issue.

Rudy, an MP from Bihar, also attacked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his "new allies" over the law and order situation, saying "now Jungle Raj exists" in the state.

He said when BJP shared power with JD(U) there, the law and orders situation was under control.

Quoting the slogan 'Bihar for Biharis', the BJP leader said it has been changed under the present dispensation to 'Bihar Apradhiyon Ke Liye'.

"The patrons of this slogan have forced the inhabitants of the state to migrate to other states," he said.

Asked to comment on controversial remarks by BJP MP Sadhvi Prachi against Muslims, Rudy merely said, "any anti-national action by any person should be treated strictly."

In response to a question regarding controversy over killing of Neel Gai, he said, "there are very clear provisions for killing of the prohibited animals and those will be adopted. Hence why to add sensation to such instances or utterances.
