Ruia Group wants to set up projects in Telangana

The diversified Ruia Group today expressed interest in setting up new projects in Telangana.

Pawan Kumar Ruia, Chairman of the Kolkata-based Group, along with senior officials of the corporate house, called on Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.

"The Chairman expressed his company's interest in setting up new projects in Telangana. He told the Chief Minister that his company would like to set up a plant for manufacturing rail coaches in collaboration with one of the largest coach manufacturing companies of the world, based out of Europe," a state government release said here.

Ruia also expressed willingness to develop a smart city near the financial district in Hyderabad, it said.
 

"The Chief Minister told the company officials that the world's largest metro rail is in Hyderabad and it will be further expanded.

"He assured the Ruia Group Chairman that the government will extend support to their efforts to set up ventures in the state," it said.

Rao asked the officers concerned to discuss in detail with the Group representatives about their proposals and find out their requirements, the release added.

The Group has two major verticals - tyre & rubber industry, and heavy engineering & infrastructure. It also has a presence in the health segment.
