President of ruling Naga People's Front (NPF)-led dispensation Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu today said the government should take the negative publicity and allegations as welcome signs for correction of the mistakes and for strengthening the government's hand.

Legislators in the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) government should not turn a deaf ear to allegations against the government but should collectively work to rectify it, Liezietsu said while addressing the NPF Central Executive Council meeting held here.

Maintaining that the state has a single party government led by NPF, Liezietsu said there is no scope for casualness as there are political parties which are not with the NPF.

Though such parties, not part of the ruling dispensation, don't have any representation in assembly, in Manipur, election is only six months away and in Nagaland it is only after 17 months, he said urging party rank and file to prepare for the 2018 state elections.

"Your's (legislators) is a collective responsibility and the mistake committed by one leader in the government will affect the image of the government as a whole," Liezietsu said.

Nagaland Home Minister, Y Patton, echoing the leader, said while no political dispensation in the state will be able to contend with the ruling NPF in the next elections, the leaders and activists should not be complacent.

Minister for Public Health Engineering, Tokheho Yepthomi said that the party should retrospect its own performance and take necessary corrective measures to return to power in the 2018 elections.
