'Run for Fun' flagged off in Aizawl

Mizoram governor Lt Gen (Retd) Nirbhay Sharma today flagged off the 'Run for Fun', organised with the aim of creating a "Healthy India".

People from all walks of life including personnel from major NGOs, para-military forces and students participated in the programme, organised by the 39 battalion of the Assam Rifles under the aegis of the Headquarters of IGAR (East) and Headquarters 23 Sector Assam Rifles at the Assam Rifles Football Ground here, Assam Rifles officials said.

Earlier, an Expedition for Peace team which was flagged off from Mizoram-Bangladesh-Myanmar border Parva hamlet on October 13 reached Aizawl yesterday.

The expedition team would visit Assam and Tripura to spread the message of peace and travel by vehicles, boats and by foot.
