Undertrial prisoner Upendra Singh who was freed by members of his gang in an audacious "hijack' of a train in Durg district of Chhattisgarh last month, was today arrested in a joint operation in Jharkhand, a senior officer said.
"Upendra Singh was arrested from Bank Mod area of Dhanbad district (Jharkhand) by a joint team of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh Police," SP Dhanbad, Ravi Kant Dhan told PTI over phone.
On February 6, around eight armed criminals "hijacked" the Gondia-Raigarh Jan Satabdi Express near Kumhari railway station of the district for one-and-a-half kilometres to set Singh free.
