Rupee up 14 paise Vs dollar in early trade

Besides, euro and yen's strengthening against the dollar overseas also supported the rupee, dealers said.

The rupee had lost 16 paise yesterday to close at nearly six-week low of 55.23 against the dollar amid sustained demand of the US currency from oil companies.

Meanwhile, the BSE benchmark index Sensex fell by 24.65 points, or 0.12 per cent, to 19,666.77 in early trade today.
