Rupesh outclassed country's number six cueist Parikh 150-74 150-85 to top his Pool 'A'.

In the first game, Rupesh crafted a break of 89 and fired an unfinished break of 52 in the second enroute to his win over Parikh.

In Pool B, ONGC's Dhruv Sitwala defeated Arun Agarwal 153-24 152-129 while Mumbai's Sourav Kothari ended the challenge of Kamal Chawla of Railways 150-26 150-68.

Nine-time world champion and local favourite Geet Sethi was at his immaculate best in shutting out BPCL's Manan Chandra 152-132 102-151 152-64.

In other matches of the day, Alok Kumar beat Nalin Patel 151-89 150-140 while Ashok Shandilya outplayed Manish Jain 151-79 151-124.

 

Devendra Joshi showed impeccable ball control to beat Brijesh Damani 154-77 152-115.
