Brand, who was the host of the event, applauded teen popstar Justin Bieber for beating up the paparazzi and thanked Kim Kardashian for taking the pressure off of him with her 'world record quick marriage', reported Ace Showbiz.

"Justin Bieber beat up a paparazzi. Well done, Justin. And if after recent events you think it's hypocritical of me joking about a celebrity beating up a paparazzi, wait until you see what I have to say about short-lived celebrity marriages," Brand said.

The actor first talked about Kardashian's rebound love.

"I admire Kanye a lot. His drunken stage invasion at the last MTV award show I hosted took a lot of pressure off me, like watching someone else get in trouble at school."

Without directly mentioning his own failed marriage to pop star Katy Perry, Brand noted that the reality TV star did take a lot of pressure off of him with her "world record quick marriage. Thanks Kim!"

Brand also didn't fail to mention John Travolta, who was recently sued by male masseurs for sexual harassment.

"He needed it, man. He was so stiff, I'm telling ya!"

Near the end of the monologue, the "Get Him to the Greek" star mocked himself once again.

"The last time I did an MTV awards show, I did end up marrying someone that was there. So tonight I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for my next wife," he said.
