Russian youth slashes tea vendor's neck over trivial issue

A youth, who completed his MBBS from Russia, allegedly slashed a tea vendor's neck with a blade in south Delhi after an argument over a petty issue, police said today.

The incident took place in Hauz Khas yesterday and the accused Ritul Yadav (30) have been arrested.

Yadav allegedly attacked Umashankar (35) with a surgical blade yesterday morning and fled but he was apprehended in the evening. Umashankar is out of danger, police said.

The accused stays in Gautam Nagar area and was preparing for the Medical Council of India (MCI) exam.

"They fought over some trivial issue," a police official said.
