RWA officer bearers seek police help to control pollution in

A delegation of RWA office bearers in the city today apprised police about the alarming levels of pollution here and sought their co-operation in observing 10th car-free day on Thursday.

"A delegation of RWA office bearers apprised me about the alarming levels of air pollution in the city and solicited the co-operation of police department for observing tenth 'car free day' in the city on November 10," SSP Deepak Kumar Singh said.

A circular has been issued to police department to abstain from using cars on every 'car-free day' which is being observed on 10th day of every calendar month, he said.
 

"Keeping in view the thick blanket of smog engulfing the district from sunrise to sunset the building construction, digging activity and the operation of ready hot-mix plants have been banned for a week," said District Magistrate Nidhi Kesarwani.

"Pollution level in the district has crossed the safe limits and pollution control department is not providing correct figures about the rise in pollution," claimed Resident Welfare Association chairman colonel (retd.) Tejendra Pal Singh Tyagi.
