Ryan Phillippe suffered a broken leg, an injury that will most likely impact production on "Shooter".
On Monday, the actor, who stars as Bob Lee Swagger (the role originated by Mark Wahlberg in the 2007 film), shared the news on Twitter, noting that the "freak accident" did not take place on-set, but during a family outing.
"Hey, guys. I didn't injure myself doing a stunt or anywhere near the set of 'Shooter'. I was the victim of a freak accident during a family outing on Sunday. My leg is badly broken and required surgical attention, but I will make a full recovery, am in good hands, and will be back in action soon.
