S Indian Artistes Assn condole Om Puri's death

The Nadigar Sangam (South Indian Artistes' Association) mourned the death of the veteran actor Om Puri, saying the Indian film industry has lost a pillar.

The actor's body also hailed him as "one of the finest performers in the country."

"Be it Ardh Satya, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Aakrosh or Mirch Masala, he was right there delivering a wonderful performance," a statement from Nadigar Sangam said.

It recalled that he had acted in around 300 movies and won the National Film Award for best actor for his role as a police inspector in 'Ardh Satya.'

"He was a fine actor and the Indian film industry has lost a pillar. His power-packed performance will stay in our hearts forever.Nadigar Sangam expresses its heartfelt condolences to the sudden demise of versatile actor Om Puri. His death is a great loss to Indian film industry."
 

"At this juncture, South Indian Artistes' Association mourns the death of one of the finest performers in the country.RIP!," the statement said.
