S Korea appoints Pawan Goenka as ambassador to woo investment

Mahindra & Mahindra Executive Director Pawan Goenka has been appointed Honorary Ambassador of foreign investment promotion for South Korea.

As Honorary Ambassador, Goenka will promote economic ties between India and Korea and advise corporate India on potential investment opportunities in South Korea, Mahindra & Mahindra said in a statement.

The appointment came shortly after the just concluded Korea-India CEO Forum in Seoul which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Korean President Park Geun-hye.

Goenka had represented Mahindra as well as the South Korean auto company, SsangYong Motor Co Ltd, where he is the Chairman of the board, in the CEO Forum.
 

"I hope to utilise this platform to encourage closer economic ties between our two nations and promote Indian investment in South Korea," Goenka said.
