Former International cricketer and and national selector Saba Karim today stressed on regular care of bones for sportpersons for a prolonged career.
His neglect of an injury in the eye he received during a match in Bangladesh ended his career, Karim, a former wicketkeeper for the Indian team told a two-day conference of orthopaedic doctors here.
The theme of the meet was to create awareness among citizens against delay in treatment due to poor knowledge and treatment by inexperienced doctors, Organising Chairman of Central zone of Indian Orthopaedic Association Amulya Kumar Singh said.
D D Tanna of Mumbai, S C Goel of Varanasi, Amitava Mukherjee of Kolkata, Pankush Arora and Havind Tandon of New Delhi and Jamal Ashraf of Lucknow were a few prominent orthopaedic surgeons from across the country attending the conference.
