Pakistani filmmaker Sabiha Sumar says she would love to explore the opportunity of directing a Bollywood movie in future.

Sabiha directed the award winning Pakistani film "Khamosh Pani" which starred Bollywood actress Kirron Kher. The movie, which won various accolades across film festivals, was released in India too.

"I am working on a few scripts now. The stories are very strong. If there is an opportunity to direct a Bollywood film, I would certainly explore it. I might do it in the future," Sabiha told PTI.

The filmmaker, who last directed the 2013 film "Good Morning Karachi", likes work of many Hindi film directors including the off-beat cinema.

"There are a number of filmmakers, who have come out with really good films. Not only in Bollywood, but even in alternative, off beat cinema. I like a lot of the work the Bollywood filmmakers present," the 54-year-old helmer adds.

Sabiha has recently helmed a short film for 'Zeal for Unity Initiative'.

Titled "Chotay Shah", it chronicles the head of a once rich family who is desperately trying to cling on to the last vestiges of their wealth.

"It is a very a emotional subject with universal aspect. Not just people from sub-continent but everyone will relate to the story," she says.

The film, written by Uns Mufti, follows Mohammad Asghar as he grapples with a broken marriage, an ailing mother and the imminent loss of the family's last 'kothi', and ultimately ends up making rash decisions with surprising outcomes.

"I took nine days to shoot it, but the preparation took nearly six months for writing the script, screenplay and everything," Sabiha added.

'Zeal for Unity' initiative features short films by 12 filmmakers, six Indian and as many Pakistani, to make 12 different movies, as an effort to ease the tension between India and Pakistan.
