West Bengal government today felicitated veteran Bengali film actors Sabyasachi Chakraborty and Rituparna Sengupta with 'Mahanayak' and 'Mahanayika' awards.
At the 'Mahanayak Samman' awards, which is held every year in the memory of legendary actor Uttam Kumar, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee felicitated actors and technicians of the Bengali film industry.
Besides Sabyasachi and Rituparna, veterans Paran Bandyopadhyay, Anjan Dutta, Sandhya Roy, Chiranjeet Chakraborty and director Utpalendu Chakraborty were given lifetime achievement awards.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the state is the cultural capital of the world.
She said Tollywood, as the Bengali film industry is known as, will give tough competition to Bollywood and even Hollywood one day.
