The Aam Aadmi Party today held protest against North MCD Chairman Parvesh Wahi demanding his dismissal from the post and ouster from BJP over allegation of sexual harassment by a woman official of the civic body, a charge he has denied.

The demonstration was led by AAP's Rithala MLA Mahendra Goyal who was also joined by other party MLAs.

"It is utterly shameful that Parvesh Wahi, Chairman of North MCD, is facing such an abominable charge as sexual harassment. Instead of devoting themselves to public service, leaders of the BJP are being accused of indulging in such crimes against women," AAP's Delhi Convener Dilip Pandey said.

He demanded the Delhi police seriously investigate cases against BJP leaders, and "return their focus on protecting the people of Delhi and maintaining law and order".

Wahi denied the charges and said he is ready to face any probe.

"AAP should look at their own flock. Several of their legislators are facing allegations of misbehavior with women. The woman officer who has levelled allegations against me had some promotion-related issues and she had also filed similar complaints against 8-10 other municipal officers and councillors in the past," Wahi said.
