Exuding confidence that the SAD-BJP alliance will win the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections, Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar today said BJP will highlight achievements of the Centre and the state government while campaigning for the polls.

"We will go into coming (Punjab) polls with the achievements of Modi government and state government and development," Tomar who has been appointed the BJP's Punjab election in-charge said here.

After holding the first meeting with the start party leaders, office-bearers, ministers, MPs, MLAs, constituency in-charges district presidents and others, he said the SAD-BJP alliance will form the government again in the upcoming Punjab Assembly polls.

Asked whether BJP will make surgical strike as an election issue in Punjab, Tomar said the party would not link the issue of surgical strike with the elections.

He said the Akali Dal-BJP coalition was in "national interest".

On the question that the Akali Dal was allegedly not highlighting BJP in the posters and other advertisement materials, Tomar asserted that there was no controversy in this issue.

"Posters of both parties or leaders will be there when advertisements and other publicity material is related to an alliance," he said.

On seat sharing he said the matter will first be discussed by party's state election committee. Besides Tomar, BJP has also made Haryana minister Capt. Abhimanyu as the assistant in-charge for Punjab polls.

Tomar also held a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.
