The MPs alleged that in a case involving the murder of four Sikhs during the 1984 riots, the chargesheet prepared by the police in 1992 was ready to be filed in court, but since the past 21 years it continues to lie in the police files and has not been presented in court as the accused is an "influential" Congress leader.
They further said even though the case was transferred to CBI by the Lt Governor in 2010, it did not file a chargesheet and alleged the then ACP Rajiv Ranjan for "suppressing" the chargesheet in a bid to "protect" Kumar.
"We demand from the Home Minister to immediately register a criminal case against Rajiv Ranjan and put him under suspension. We further demand that the chargesheet be filed in the court immediately against Sajjan Kumar for murder of four Sikhs in Nangloi police station," a statement by the MPs said.
They said, "shockingly, the said chargesheet is lying in files till date and has never been filed in court.
