The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today decided to go for an intensive drive to strengthen its cadre by reaching out to each and every worker in the next one year.
This was decided at a review meeting of all SAD candidates which was chaired by its chief Sukhbir Singh Badal at the party head office here.
Badal said he would lead the drive by interacting with party workers in each of the 117 assembly constituencies in the state.

Following suggestions from the party leaders, Badal also announced formation of a committee to make recommendations on the need to take disciplinary action against those who indulged in anti-party activities.
He said the committee would also make recommendations to give more responsibility to grass root workers who had proved to be an asset for the party.
"I want to reward and recognise genuine workers. Such workers will also be adjusted in the party's working committee in due course," he added.
During the course of discussion, Badal admitted that development took a back seat because in the assembly poll due to the "malicious misinformation" campaign of the rivals.
He said development done by the party would stand it in good stead as people would now be able to compare the work done by the SAD- BJP government with the previous Congress government.
"Development done by us in the last 10 years will bring us back to power in the future," he added.
Party General Secretary Bikram Singh Majithia while speaking on the occasion said candidates should also give their suggestions in writing to the party.
He even advocated reaching out to workers who had strayed away from the party for one reason or another.
Other leaders also gave suggestions on the occasion including MP Prem Singh Chandumajra and Maheshinder Singh Grewal.
