Ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) will hold a public rally at Patiala on December 15 on the same day on which Capt Amarinder Singh's coronation as party chief will take place at a Congress rally on Bathinda.

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today announced that the Shiromani Akali Dal would hold its rally at Patiala on December 15.

He said the morale of Akali cadre is boosted with the successful holding of four 'Sadbhawna Rallies' in the state. Patiala rally will be last of these rallies.

He said the kind of response the Akali Dal is getting in these rallies is a proof that the public has posed full faith in the able leadership of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

On the possibility of "Maha Gathbandhan" (grand-alliance) on the lines of Bihar in Punjab by Congress, he quipped that newly appointed Punjab Pradesh Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh is already having a "Maha Gathbandhan" with the hardliners and pro-Khalistan people as his Congressmen have attended the Chabba congregation on November 10 at Amritsar and endorsed its resolutions.

He said Capt Amarinder Singh and his close relative SAD (Amritsar) President Simranjit Singh Maan are already in a "Maha Gathbandhan" for their own vested interests.
