Dal Khalsa today said electors will teach Shiromani Akali Dal a lesson for joining hands the "pseudo" Dera Sacha Sauda cult in February 4 Assembly polls.

"The Sikhs would not allow the Sirsa dera to do any sacrilege act or anti-gurmat satsang anywhere on the soil of Punjab. Sikhs will teach Akalis a lesson for hobnobbing with the anti-Sikh elements and also for deviating from the path of righteousness," Party president H S Cheema and spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said.

They claimed that the support that Akalis have sought from Sirsa dera in lieu of assurance to felicitate dera's satsang in Punjab was in total violation of the hukamnama issued by Five Takhat Jathedars' on in May 2007.

Accusing deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal of allegedly conniving with dera Sirsa head Gurmeet Ram Rahim, they said the Badal family has ditched the Panth, which may proved to be the "final nail in the coffin".

They claimed that the pardon of Dera Sirsa chief by disgraced Jathedars in September 2016 was engineered by Sukhbir under a secret deal, which was "politically managed" move.

They said since 90's Akalis under Badals have deviated from the panthic objectives.

Dal Khalsa leaders said that these last minute measures will not save the sinking ship of Badals.
