Municipal elections in Punjab are to held tomorrow.

Demanding action against Amarinder, SAD secretary and spokesman Daljit Singh Cheema in a statement urged the State Election Commissioner to immediately take a serious note of "derogatory" statement.

He further said a written complaint has also been filed by the SAD with SEC.

"The use of foul language in municipal elections could result in a serious law and order problem and disturb the hard earned peace in the state," Cheema said.

Amarinder today asked party workers to prepare for tomorrow's municipal elections and further asked them to retaliate in equal measure hard and fast.

"I have told my party workers not to take anything lying down," he said in a statement, while adding, "hit them (Akalis) back twice if they try to hit you once."

Cheema said from the tone and tenor of state Congress chief's statement, it has become clear that the party is anticipating crushing defeat in the municipal committee and corporation elections at the hands of SAD-BJP combine.

He further said it has become the habit of the Congress chief to use "foul" language against the leadership of the SAD-BJP combine and create an atmosphere of hatred, enmity and tension.
