The ruling Shiromani Akali Dal today decided to launch a public awareness campaign 'Lok Lehar' against social evils in the state.
Details of the campaign would be announced by the Punjab Chief Minster Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal at the 'Maghi' conference on January 14.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the core committee of the party held at the residence of the Chief Minister here this evening, a statement by SAD said.

The meeting also decided that a high level delegation of the party led by Sukhbir will call on the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on the issue of release of Sikh prisoners detained in various prisons.
The delegation would also comprise party secretary general Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa and the SGPC president Jathedar Avtar Singh.
Giving details of the programme, Harcharan Bains, General Secretary of the party, said that the 'Lok Lehar' will aim at mobilizing the people against evils that afflict the society.
"The SAD is committed to the establishment of a society based on the ideals laid before us by the great gurus. Leaders and workers of the party would reach out to every nook and corner of every village and city in the state," he said.
