Sadhvi Prachi visits riot-hit Atali village

VHP leader Sadhvi Prachi visited the communal violence hit Atali village here even as tension prevailed in the area.

Sadhvi's visit last night comes in wake of violent clash between two communities on May 25 over the construction of a religious structure which left five persons injured and over 20 houses burnt.

Sadhvi, during her visit, accused local administration of imposing pressure on a particular community to compromise and said that the construction of the religious structure demanded by other community would not be allowed.

In the backdrop of visits of political leaders to the village, cases have been reported of cattle feed belonging to a particular community being set on fire by unidentified persons since continuous two nights.
 

The burnt stock is estimated to be worth Rs 2 lacs, SHO Preetpal said.

A case has been registered at Chainsa police station under relevant sections of IPC, he added.
