Sagayam holds inquiry with officials

SeniorIAS officer U Sagayam, appointed by Madras High Court to probe alleged illegal granite quarrying in the district today held discussions with various officials on the complaints given by those who were affected by illegal mining of granite in the district.

He held discussions with the officials of the Geology and Mining department, Block Development Officer.

Sagyam is expected to compile his report after the sixth round of enquiry which was going on now, the officials said.

The sixth phase of enquiry started on January 26.During the course of enquiry many farmers told Sagayam that Police framed them in false cases if they complained about the Illegal quarrying.
