The Indian selectors will be awaiting Wriddhiman Saha's fitness report before searching for a replacement after the East Zone wicketkeeper-batsman injured his thumb during the Duleep Trophy semi-final, here today.

Bengal player Saha did not come to bat as East were shot out for a paltry 62 as South Zone won by an innings and 118 runs to wrap up the four-day match in just over two days.

Saha, who has been picked for the three ODIs against the visiting Sri Lankan team in place of skipper MS Dhoni, got out for a duck in the first innings and now awaits his injury to heal before taking on the field for India.

It is learnt that Saha has not only bruised his thumb but also has a split webbing but reportedly the injury is not serious.

Saha, 30, who has represented India in 2 Tests and 6 ODIs, has a weeek to prove his fitness before the five-match series kickstarts in the first week of November.
