India Heritage Walk Festival, a collaboration of Sahapedia and YES Arts & Culture, has been awarded the PATA Gold Award 2018 for its recently concluded pan-India event.
Sahapedia is an open online resource on the arts, cultures and heritage of India.
Sahapedia said in a release that the award, announced by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) in Bangkok on Wednesday, has been presented to it under the 'Heritage-Culture' category.
Sponsored by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), the PATA Awards this year recognised achievements of 27 organisations and individuals in the field of travel and tourism.
The PATA Awards 2018, which received 200 submissions from 87 organisations and individuals worldwide, will be presented to the winners on September 14 during the PATA Travel Mart in Malaysia.
Sahapedia had organised IHWF 2018 to encourage citizens to explore the tangible and intangible heritage of their cities and towns.
YES Arts & Culture is the cultural division of YES Global Institute, a practising think tank of YES BANK.
In addition to the 38 partners spread across India, the first edition was also supported by Incredible India, a Government of India initiative.
The month-long, multi-city IHWF 2018 was organised in February this year.
